This is a video. I made it in Flash for my design class. It is my tribute to Ray Bradbury, based on his short story, The Veldt. Hope you like it.

I've been asked several times, "Kyle, will you be getting one of these boards for free?!"
After exhaling deeply and stroking my furrowed brow,
I respond with a tepid, "Probably not."

Last summer I interned at Violette Design in Stowe, Vermont, where I had the opportunity to work on a variety of awesome projects for Burton Snowboards. The most exciting of these were two special series snowboards that I designed the die-cut base graphics for. This three-board series was not scheduled to be put into production until later this year, and I never heard whether or not Burton had approved my base graphics.
I just stumbled upon this Transworld video, dated January 28th 2010, which shows the Burton Meat Eater's series being debuted in Denver, and sure enough, my graphics grace the bottoms of two out of the three boards.
Watch the video here:
(Fast forward the video halfway to the end to see my work on the boards for a second or two. Look for the underside of the Road Soda and Sweettalker boards as well as the checklist on the top of the Sweettalker in my handwriting!)
Since these boards aren't available yet I can't post pictures of the graphics..
so you'll have to wait, sorry.

This is a very special series of snowboards and I am truly honored to have contributed. Can't wait for these to hit the stores.

WORK

First week of classes and my schedule is lookin' pretty fresh. Here is a picture of a print I did for my Serial Imagery class. The print is made with a Toray sheet which is basically a fancy
plate that allows you to print waterlessly and get an assload of detail. If you click the picture
you can see all the tiny scratches that printed, its pretty nuts. I also added watercolor to this print.
"Untitled (Lies)" - 9 x 12"
And finally here is some work that I did while in Ghana. The first is of the laptop sleeve prototype that my buddy Jake Zien and I designed and constructed. It is made out of 100% recycled materials, mainly plastic billboard material and flour sack for the lining. We ended up making three of these altogether, but this sweet brown one is mine.

Enjoy the newness
