New old photos

I seriously can't believe its been almost a full year since I visited Kokrobitey, Ghana for a month with some of my good friends from school.  It was one of the greatest times of my life.  In honor of this occasion I went through my photos and put some of my favorites up on my site.  These were shot on my dad's old Minolta, printed and scanned.  Enjoy!!

WORK

First week of classes and my schedule is lookin' pretty fresh. Here is a picture of a print I did for my Serial Imagery class. The print is made with a Toray sheet which is basically a fancy
plate that allows you to print waterlessly and get an assload of detail. If you click the picture
you can see all the tiny scratches that printed, its pretty nuts. I also added watercolor to this print.

"Untitled (Lies)" - 9 x 12"

And finally here is some work that I did while in Ghana. The first is of the laptop sleeve prototype that my buddy Jake Zien and I designed and constructed. It is made out of 100% recycled materials, mainly plastic billboard material and flour sack for the lining. We ended up making three of these altogether, but this sweet brown one is mine.

One of the main features of the sleeve is that you can unzip it and use the material as a portable workspace for your laptop. This is a screenprint that we did on the inside of our sleeves, originally from a drawing that I did with the text added digitally:

And finally here are some pages of my sketchbook from the trip. Just a random selection:

Enjoy the newness
