The new studio album from Isis, entitled "Wavering Radiant" leaked on the net last week, and I have listened to it several times through already. Its very good, and an interesting departure from their last album, "In the Absence of Truth", although the band still clings to their post-metal roots for the structure of most songs. But this is no deal breaker whatsoever, the band delivers consistent awesomeness song by song and incorporates all the beautiful melody and epic buildup you would expect to hear from them . The album consists of 7 songs which each clock in at around 8 minutes on average, as per usual. From what I've heard so far, the songs are all great. The track "Ghost Key" opens with a riff that sounds like it's from the glacier world in Donkey Kong Country and opens up into a pit of growling vocals with guitars ringing over it. Anyone who is a fan of Isis will not be disappointed by this album.
